Treat My Feet: Soft Foot Review!
So. I'll be the first person to admit that my feet are a mess during the summer. Walking around Manhattan all day long in flats and sandals does not make for a pretty look at the end of the day. There are times when I'm even embarrassed to get a pedicure. I have done a LOT of damage to my feet and I feel so bad for them.
Ergo, I have become a huge fan of at home foot exfoliating treatments. Normally, I use Tony Moly's Shiny Foot. But, I was really excited to try out a new peel! And honestly, I'm impressed.
First and foremost, Treat My Feet comes with two booties in the box. At first I was confused considering what I'm normally used to is booties plus having packets of liquid I have to pour into the bootie.
I was REALLY pleasantly surprised that the booties were sealed with the exfoliating liquid already inside. Do you know how much that makes my clumsy life SO much easier?! I really, really like that I can just cut these open and slip them on as opposed to having to hold them up, while pouring the liquid in and potentially making a mess- which has happened.
If you're unfamiliar with exfoliating foot peels, they're relatively simple and easy to use. They also make for an awesome addition to an at home spa day. I can not express this enough because I've made this mistake before- the very first thing you want to do is give your feet a good soak for about 30 minutes to soften them up and clean them.
After opening the booties and wrapping them around your feet- get ready to sit back and relax with them for 60-90 minutes. Since my feet tend to be abominations against nature, I tend to go the full 90 minutes. Throw on a movie, have some tea, drink some wine, do a hair/face mask- just chill out. I mean, they're not horrible to walk in. But, it can be a bit of a pain. Treat My Feet suggests putting normal socks over the booties to compress the liquid more. But, too be honest, it was was too hot in my apartment to do this.
I also like to wiggle my feet every once in a while to make sure I'm getting coverage all over the foot. After your 60-90 minutes, remove and toss the booties. Then wash your feet with soap in water.
Normally, it takes 4 days to a week and then your feet will fall off and you grow new ones. :)
Actually, within a few days, your feet will REALLY start to peel and exfoliate. It's gross yet amazing. I generally suggest doing this in the winter when people actually can't see your feet because it does take a few days for your feet to essentially "molt." I didn't take pictures. I don't think you want to see them anyway.
Treat My Feet worked just as well as Tony Moly and other foot peels I have used in the past. That being said, there are 2 things about Treat My Feet that sets it apart for me.
First, I was thrilled with the fact that I didn't have to set up a whole thing and pour in the liquid. It's just so simple! And second, this smells ONE MILLION times better than the other peels I have tried. Treat My Feet has chamomile and ginger extracts that make you actually feel like you're giving yourself a spa treatment as opposed running some mad scientist experiment on your feet.
At a comparable price to other treatments I've tried, I think I've been converted. We have a winner!
Giveaway Ended! Congrats to Olivia J, Nick P, and Krishna S!
