I was actually really, really pleased with my August Birchbox! It really seems like I'm finally getting items I want to try! Also- I think the box this month is adorable!

Let' Take A Look!

The Haul!

1. Coola Environmental Repair Plus Radical Recovery After Sun Lotion:

Sample Sized at .5 oz, Approx. $2.70. Full Sized Listed at 6 oz for $32.00

Besides that awful, awful name- I'm actually finding myself excited about a Coola product. Who would have thought?? The concept is really cool and since I'm one to burn no matter what SPF I wear, this is definitely something I'm interested in trying out.

2. Dr. Brandt Pores No More Cleanser:

Sample Sized at .25 oz, Approx. $2.50. Full Sized Listed at 3.5 oz for $35.00

So, I've normally gotten rid of my Dr. Brandt products. But, my pores have been wild recently. I think I'll give this cleanser a shot!

3. IPKN Pore Apple Sun Cream:

Sample Sized at 7 ml, Approx. $2.80. Full Sized Listed at 70 ml for $28.00

Oh my god! This is so cool! It's sunscreen that smells like a real apple! It's so think and you need to put it on sparingly. But I am in love!!

4. R+Co Death Valley Dry Shampoo:

Sample Sized at 1.6 oz, Approx. $7.40. Full Sized Listed at 6.3 oz for $29.00

This was my sample choice. Although I am not the hugest fan of dry shampoos- I'm mulling over giving this one a shot. We'll see!

5. theBalm Balm Desert Bronzer/Blush:

Sample Sized at .8 g, Approx. $2.60. Full Sized Listed at 6.39 g for $21.00

I really like getting theBalm samples. But, I'm a little concerned how I am going to apply this being that it's super tiny and cannot conceivably fit any brush!

6. Bonus Item: Kerastase Bain Force Architecte Shampoo:

Sample Sized at 10 ml, Approx. $1.60. Full Sized listed at 250 ml for $40.00

Since this is a bonus item, I am not going to complain about getting the sample packet. Plus, when else am I going to get the chance to use $40 shampoo?

The Final Verdict!

Box Value: Approx $20.00

Box Score: 8/10

Final Thoughts: Although a surprisingly low box value, I am pretty pleased. I got 6 items and will probably give them all a shot. Birchbox was on point this month! Woo!

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with my Glossybox this month! I don't think a lot of people were happy with their boxes. But, I'm digging it.

Let's Take A Look!

The Haul!

1. Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in Sooty Black!
Full Sized! Listed at .03 oz for $10.00

I'm not the hugest fan of Pop Beauty. But, as you may know- I'm a HUGE fan of black eyeliner. So, this is a win for me!

2. Sparitual Nail Lacquer in I Feel The Earth Move:
Full Sized! Listed at .5 oz for $12.00

Even though I love getting full sized nail polishes, I'm so bored of getting this type of blood red color. I did look at a couple spoilers and reviews and other people got much more interesting colors than I did. I'm kind of jealous. :(

3. Manna Kadar Cosmetics Lash Primer:
Full Sized! Listed at .14 oz for $24.00

I LOVE lash primers and I'm really excited to try this out. In fact, I wish more beauty boxes would send out last primers- they're kind of awesome! Win!!

4. Glamglow Youthcleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser:
Sample Sized at 1 oz, Approx. $7.80. Full Sized Listed at 5 oz for $39.00

YAY! Another Glamglow product! I am REALLY excited to try this out. WOO!!!

5. Lollipops Makeup Lip Balm in Delicieuse:
Full Sized! Listed at .33 oz for $5.50

Since I was absolutely IRATE with getting a random chapstick type thing in my July Glossybox, I was going to blow my top when I saw yet another balm. I was kind of pissed at first. That being said, this smells like an amazing cake and tastes amazing. It's super soft and amazing. I LOVE it! Totally turned into a win!

The Final Verdict!

Box Value:Approx. $60.00

Box Score: 9/10

Final Thoughts: I'm actually kind of surprised with such a low box value. I know a lot of people weren't happy with this month's Glossybox. But, I'm actually kind of in love with it. At first glance- I wasn't down. But, breaking it down- we did get 4 full sized items and realistically, I will use everything in the box even though I'm kind of bored with the Sparitual color I got. Overall, I really like the combination of items I got.

Dreaming In Color

So, I have made the decision that this is going to be my last Allure Beauty Box. I was such a HUGE fan of Sample Society up until the beginning of this year when I felt like they dropped off a cliff on January. I knew something was up and then Allure split from Beautybar.com which kind of proved my theory that something was wrong.

I was hoping that Allure would spring back with some awesome boxes to lure in new customers as well as revamp their image. Unfortunately they have not. Between sup par boxes, getting double/triple charged at the beginning of every month, a practically unworkable website, and no additional perks- I sadly have to cut the cord.

That being said, I'll be keeping an eye out to see if they revamp this box and will gladly sign up again if it's worth it!

1. Malin + Goetz Peppermint Shampoo:

Meh, being that I love peppermint scented products- I'm ok with this. But, I'm not thrilled. It's more of an apathy type thing. But, I'll probably use it so it's ok.

2. Nuance Salma Hayek AM/PM Anti-Aging Super Cream:

Sample Sized at 0.265 oz, Approx. $3.80. Full Sized Listed At 1.4 oz for $19.99

This is another item I'm kind of meh about. I don't hate it. But it doesn't thrill me. I do like the fact that this is something new from a new company that I haven't tried before. But, being that I'm up to my eyeballs in anti-aging products, I probably won't keep it.

3. Bumble and Bumble Grooming Cream:

Sample Sized at .5 oz, Approx. $3.00. Full Sized Listed At 5 oz for $30.00

WHAT is Allure's obsession with Bumble and Bumble?? There have got to be thousands of hair care lines and it's like they are stuck on this one company. This is boring and repetitive. I'm not complaining about the actual item except for the name: Grooming Cream? Am I a horse now? I can always use a styling cream. But this is the prime example of why I'm shipping of from this sub.

4. Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner:

Sample Sized at .10 g, Approx. $1.70. Full Sized Listed at 1.4 g for $24.00

As much as I love Benefit and love this eyeliner- I absolutely abhor this sample! It is so super tiny and worthless. I've had it before and you can barely get one use out of it. God forbid you screw it up on one eye- it's done. UGH.

5. Allure & Butter London Nail Laquer in Violet's Revenge:

Sample Sized at .2 oz, Approx. $7.50. Full Sized Listed at .4 oz for $15.00

This is actually the only item that I really liked from this box. Though I'm really surprised they didn't supply this as a full sized item. The color is really pretty and I'll definitely use it. My one win.

6. Eau Thermal Avene Cleanance Gel Cleanser:

Sample Sized at 1.69 oz, Approx. $5.00. Full Sized Listed At 6.76 oz for $20.00

I'm slightly disappointed with this sample due to the fact that I did just receive the same item in my July Ipsy Glambag. Although this sample is slightly bigger- I haven't even gotten around to trying out the Ipsy sample. Ugh

The Final Verdict!

Box Value: $23.00

Box Score: 2/10

Final Thoughts: WOW! This is by far the lowest value box I have ever received from Allure. I'm really sad that I'm saying good by to this sub. But, I feel like I've been subbed for 8 months too long. For a "new" box this is uninspiring, cheap, and no longer of interest to me. This is kind of a huge let down.
