Monthly Jewelry Candle! Prize Candle Review and Reveal!

Prize Candle Review and Reveal!

Although the review was a lot of work- I had a lot of fun doing this and want to continue this monthly review for my Blog and Youtube readers!

If you aren't familiar with the extremely pervasive fad of candles with jewelry that's been all over social media as of recently- I suggest checking some of these out! I was a huge fan of these candles when I was a kid and now they're even more exciting. It's like Cracker Jacks for adults!

I LOVE scented candles and routinely stock my apartment with them and I LOVE jewelry. So, why not revel in the combination of two of my favorite things? I do have to say that even though these candles are delicious and fun- you really only have to expect costume jewelry. I wouldn't advise buying these if you're actually expecting a $5000.00 ring in there. It's kitschy and you're most likely going to get a cheap costume piece. But, why not have fun with it?

This month, I opted to try out some Prize Candles for the first time. I was able to snag some on sale for something like 3 for $40 or something like that. So, I definitely had to review one!

If you want to hop right to the Youtube reveal, check it out here:

A little bit about PrizeCandle.com!

Prize Candle candles are "eco-friendly" soy candles made from 100% USA grown soybeans with selective botanical oils, and cotton wicks. They are paraben, ammonia, chlorine, lauramide DEA, and pesticide free.

Prize Candles have 5 different types of candles you can purchase:

1. Prize Candles: $24.99-$29.99. 9 oz. with a 40 hour burn time. The regular $24.99 Prize Candles contain rings $10-$5,000. Certain $29.99 scents contain rings from $25.00-$5,000. They have quite a number of various types of fragrance for any palate.

2. Triple Crown Candles: $39.99, 14.5 oz. with a 36 hour burn time. Named after royalty, the Triple Crown candles contain 3 stackable rings worth up to $5,000.

3. Charm Candles: $29.99. Unsure of size/burn time. If you don't want a ring, they offer a few charm candles instead!

4. Party Collection Candles: $29.99, 90 oz. with a 40 hour burn time. Named after some of the most fabulous cities in the world (I have to grab a NY one!) these candles are in decorative gold confetti and contain rings and charms.

5. Noir Candle: $199.99! 22 oz. with a 100 hour burn time. The noir candle is the cream of the crop for Prize Candle. Each candle contains at least a $100 ring with a chance to win a $10,000 Luxe Ring! How do I get my hands on one of these...?

PrizeCandle.com also has a Candle Membership. The membership costs $29.99 a month + tax (but free shipping) where subscribers receive one candle a month with a ring valued $25 and up. Subscribers are billed monthly and can cancel at any time.

Finally, if you decide you're really into Prize Candles, you can opt in to sign up to be a Prize Candle Consultant:

There are 3 levels of "kits" you can start with that you do have to pay for: Platinum ($159), Gold ($99), and Virtual ($29.99). Unlike signing up for the free BellaCandles.com representative site that I set up and demo'ed in the last blog- this feels a little too MLM style for me to pay $30.00 for a membership I may not use. So, I didn't sign up! But, feel free to do so if you want to!

Okkkkkkkk. So, this was my first time buying a Prize Candle. I opted to get a few of the regular $24.99, 9 oz. candles when they went on sale as $24.99 is a bit pricey for me to spend on just one candle. But, I do get a ton of emails for different sales that Prize Candle seems to have a lot. So, that's always good.

For the review and video, I opted to review Prize Candle's Happy Birthday Candle! To be honest, the scent is very light and doesn't fill up a room like I personally like. But, if you tend to prefer a light scent that lasts a while after burning- you may like these candles. Also- for this particular scent, when you get really up close to the actual candle it kind of smells more like Play-Doh than cake to me!

It only took about 2-3 hours for the ring to start showing and loosen up in the wax. What I REALLY like about Prize Candle is the the fact that they at least attempt to keep your ring safe in a little plastic bubble. Mine leaked- but that totally could have been on me for trying to dig the thing out of the wax:

In side the plastic pod, the ring is double wrapped in a plastic baggy that also contains your special code for appraisal.

After fishing my cute little ring out,

I immediately went to the appraisal tab on the Prize Candle website:

Entered my code and...

Awwwww another $10 ring! It's cute. But, way too big to even be a thumb ring for me!

Final Thoughts:

This was my first time buying and trying out Prize Candle candles. What I really liked was being able to grab a bunch of candles on sale to try them out for the first time instead of paying the full price of $24.99-$39.99 per candle. That was definitely worth it to me, especially with the holidays approaching. The small tumbler glasses that they come in are very sleek and the candles do tend to last quite a while even though they appear on the smaller side. Although the Happy Birthday scent is a little too subtle for me- I have tried their other scents and they smell amazing (try the Provence Lavender).

I really like that they try to be sustainable and eco-friendly and don't contain all those baddies mentioned about.
And, of course the ring is always an awesome bonus!

I am seriously considering purchasing from Prize Candle again to grab their NY candle!
