First Influenster VoxBox #ZZZQuil Sleep Aid Unboxing and Review!

A couple days ago, I made a blog post that I had finally been picked for an Influenster VoxBox.

For those not in the know, Influenster is a social media based consumer review websites for products ranging from Beauty, Clothes, Weddings, Pets, Food, Stores... you name it. You create a profile, link your social media accounts, and unlock badges to try to qualify for free product testing. To unlock badges for different types of reviews, you answer surveys, write reviews, ask and and questions on the product, and share the products on social media.

Staying active on Influenster eventually leads to qualifying for different "VoxBoxes." A VoxBox of free items that are then sent to you to review on social media, blogs, etc.

I've been waiting for SO long to qualify for a VoxBox to write a review on Influenster itself, I can't wait to write a follow up article here.

Today, I received my #ZzzQuil VoxBox from Influenster. WOO! As is customary, I will be providing a candid review of the product I have received.

My #ZzzQuil VoxBox Unboxing/Demo/Review!

I want to start with the fact that I am partially biased towards this product, maybe that's why Influenster picked me to review it!
First, I have suffered from horrible insomnia my entire life. After infancy, my parents were perplexed how little their toddler/child/teen slept. I'm absolutely terrified to take prescription sleep aids. So, I try to supplement with more natural things.
Second, I adore little household gadgets like this and I'm such a sucker for them. Does anyone remember the little Febreeze Scent Stories with the adorable CD inserts? Yeh... I bought that up.
And, finally, I am sooooooo partial to lavender. My wedding is lavender and mint themed. And that is including "scent wise" as well. I have bunches of dried lavender around my apartment. Bags of lavender buds, a lavender bud pillow on my bed, lavender diffusers. Ok, you get the idea.

On to the review...

You have NO idea how excited I was to get this cute purple box in the mail. Zzzquil... you're winning on the purple theme with me right away.

Upon Opening:

Inside the box was the product, which ranges from $16.00-$17.00 online with boxes of 12 replacement sleep pads for around $9.99 (with coupons for $3 off on the outside and $1.50 off the sleep pads on the inside) and a nice little description from Influenster:

The instructions seem fairly simple to put together:

Now, here's what's in the box (with bonus cat!):

I received the little Sleep Enhancer machine and 5 ZzzPads.

Putting it together step by step:

1. Tear the ZzzPad at the notch to expose the pad. Do not touch expose pad directly. If you do touch the pad, be sure to wash hands thoroughly.

Here's what the pad looks like:

Upon opening the pad packet, I was pleasantly and happily surprised with how nice this was scented. As a lavender/chamomile fan, I have found some products to just miss the mark with the scent. And, tend to smell overly "soapy," "off," or just gross. I like this, it's not overwhelming, it's not terribly fake smelling, and it's a little on the sweet side.

That being said, I have no clue how *not* to touch this pad. The packets are rather large compared to the pad and it kind of floats around in there. So, to angle it into the slot on the product without touching it, proves to be a problem for me in the near future.

2. Slide scent intensity tab up to furthest position:

Ok, easy enough:

3. Pull scent holder out to insert ZzzPads:

This took me a hot second to find. It's not difficult. But, a little confusing if you don't see where the scent holder is, especially since mine didn't pop up right away. I don't have an issue with that. But, I could totally see my mother having an emotional meltdown about her's being "defective." The thought of this made me laugh and facepalm at the same time.

4. Insert 1 or 2 ZzzPads into the top slots of the Sleep Enhancer. Insert ZzzPad with angle side facing downward into the scentt pad slot. Using the tab slide the ZzzPad down into the unit:

This is pretty self explanatory with you look at the back of the Sleep Enhancer machine and there is a picture of the two pads, angle side down. I will disregard the typo in the instructions as I am hoping everyone disregards mine in this blog! I decided on starting out with 1 pad to see how it works or if it is strong enough on its own. But, as stated above, I really can't see a way of not touching the pad to get it into this little slot. So, I touched it. I'm a rebel. And then, I washed my hands.

5. Scent intensity cab be controlled by sliding side tabs up or down. The further down the softer the scent release intensity. The higher up the stronger the scent release intensity:

Living in Manhattan, I don't have the biggest bedroom in the land. So, I decided with one pad, to set the intensity at medium.

6. Plug the Sleep Enhancer directly into a 120V electrical wall outlet:

TADA!! Outlet right by my side of the bed!

7. Replace ZzzPads after 8 hours on high, 12 hours on medium, and 16 hours on low.

I'm a little concerned about this. Obviously, this is for sleeping time only. However, I tend to be forgetful and may not remember to unplug this every morning to remove the pad or to shut off the machine. In forgetting and leaving it for a day, I hope that I don't run the risk of the item burning out or bursting into flames or something of the like. You get the idea.

Overall Thoughts:

I like it! Using only 1 pad on the medium scent setting, my bedroom was pleasantly scented in under 10 minutes. I also want to add, that I also feel like there is a little bit of a rose water scent undertone. Throughout writing this post, I have specifically sat on the opposite side of the room to see if the smell would reach. And, it has nicely. It seems to be dispersing well and evenly. There aren't any overwhelming outbursts from the product. I'm getting drowsy...

I'm going to err on the side of caution and try to remove the Sleep Enhancer from the wall when I wake up tomorrow. But, I also want to assume that it is safe to be left plugged in as there are no warning labels on the box.

Overally, I give this product a 9/10. It is relatively inexpensive, with easy to obtain replacement pieces. The initial setup is easy, parts are not complex. The scent is pleasant - not overtly "fake" or "soapy." And, still manages to fill the entire room, subtly. The set is small and compact. And, it's actually making me a little tired as I write this. I'm looking forward to a scentful night's sleep!

Awesome job ZzzQuil and Influenster. This product is a WIN!

**I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.**
