Wednesday's Week In Review #1!

As I have been mentioning on my Youtube channel quite a bit, I have been working on rolling out some weekly content to provide for my readers and viewers. The first of my brain children that I have been working on and mulling over- Mask Up Monday should be premiering very soon.

Optimally, I am trying to create a daily theme for a a few days of the week. Obviously, this idea is still in the works as I want to provide fun, entertaining, and good content without diluting myself by trying to churn out too much all at once.

This is what brings me to my second idea: Wednesday's Week In Review! If you go through my previous posts, I do a lot of product reviews. I absolutely love trying new things all the time and my UPS lady is the best person ever- so why wouldn't I want to see her everyday? But, from time to time I do have the concern with this blog becoming too involved with product placement.

The long and short of it is- 95% of the time, I am opting to review these items and experiences. These are things I wanted to try already and want to share my experience in trying them with others. There's a reason my blog is named Totally Oblivious Beauty. I have NO idea what I'm doing, ever. I learn through experience and want to share my experiences with others. But, I don't want it to become so random that I stop making the little sense I manage to make.

I feel there is a means to an end for my ideas and this is a learning process for me. Which is why I'm so excited to be rolling out Wednesday's Week In Review. Every week, I am going to be discussing touching on a new theme and items I have be trying and reviewing. So...

Welcome to my first Wednesday Week In Review!:

Getting Healthy For The Wedding!

As I have mentioned countless times, my wedding is next August. And I REALLY need to get my act together.

I have vendors to book, moms to calm down, dresses to buy, crafts to create, and a million other things to do (you will experience all that with me). But, I have to get myself back on track first! Normally, I have an insanely active real life job that takes me all day every day walking around Manhattan. This past year has not been like that. I've spent much more time in the office on my butt working on paperwork. And, it is starting to show.

So far, as I've discussed in the past- I have gone back to being vegetarian. Which was really only tough for the first couple of weeks. And Josh accidentally surprised me with a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich one day which led to a lot of grumbling. I've also gotten into going back to the gym. But, I'm having a hard time getting on a good schedule.

My main issue is just fatigue which is totally based on my insomnia. I sometimes feel like I need a little kick in the butt to get going. So, I've been trying out some new things to get my mindset in the battle of the bulge for the wedding!

Here's what I've been trying:

Anchor's Garcina Cambogia & Green Coffee Bean Supplement

So, diet pills don't really work for me. And they often make me feel on edge and jittery. I wanted to try something different. I've also heard good things about garcina cambogia. As you can see, I've made a mess of the bottle. ::facepalm:: I never claimed to not be clumsy and I was a little too excited to try it before remember to take a picture.

Anchor provides what seems like an industrial sized bottle of this stuff. It's actually a quart- which is a lot. It's vegetarian and sugar free! In addition- there are no artificial coloring or flavoring, sugar, starch, salt, wheat, gluten, yeast, milk, or soy.

Directions are to take 1 tbsp twice a day, preferably an hour before meals. And in case you're wondering- there is a line in the cap that is exactly a tbsp amount. Which is probably why I've made such a mess of the bottle!

I feel so smart for figuring that out... The directions also mention that if needed, it can be taken with juice. But, I personally really like the berry-melon flavor. It's a little tart. But, I dig that. I either take it like a shot in the morning. Or, I do really like it as flavoring in an 8 oz glass of ice water. Then you get like, essence of melon.

Now, I'm so in the process of changing so many things up and I am losing weight. Especially bloat around my stomach. So I'm hesitant to say that this is helping me lose weight. However, being a coffee "sipper" I don't really get that wake up call in the morning that I so desperately need.

There is TOTALLY a difference in my mornings when I take a shot of this. It helps me wake up and get going and is helping with my energy levels that I so desperately need. And it does provide a bit of an appetite suppressant that helps me from over eating or having that extra glass of Chianti... it help satiate me through the day.

Honestly, I'm not crazy religious about taking this. But, I do use it and have seen results where I wanted and expected to see results with a little pump up and a little bit more food control.
 for
I'm going to give Anchor's Gargina Cambogia Dietary Supplement 2 Rainarella thumbs up!

If you're interested in checking it out, it's available on Amazon:

On the other side of the coin, I think I got a little more experimental for my own good when trying out...

Thin Botanicals Body Wraps

I know, I know. Here I am hemming and hawing about cellulite cream being snake oil and I go and opt to try and review a body wrap system. This is why I have Anchor keeping from filling up too much on Chianti. But, you can't tell me you haven't wanted to at least TRY something like this at least once. I had the opportunity. So I did.

I don't know if this is TMI. And I really don't care. But over the past year, every time I get my period, I've been bloating like I'm 6 months pregnant for the first couple of days. It's awful and embarrassing. I was just hoping that this would help me a bit with my bloat and water weight.

Basically I received 5 pads to be worn every other day for 6-8 hours (what??). One thing I can mention is that these things smells amazing- very cinnamon-y and delicious. They adhere well. But, were much too large for my frame so they were quite uncomfortable. Active ingredients are sophoicoside, capsacin, caffeine, catechin, and ions (??).

Truth be told, I was just hoping they would bring down my bloat during my period so I started using them a few days before. Maybe I wasn't doing it right because these guys got tons of good reviews on amazon. So if you want to check it out there, please do:

So this is my start! I'm getting on the ball and getting ready to be in shape for my wedding. I feel victorious between the combination of going back to being vegetarian, going to the gym, and trying out new supplements like Anchor's. On the other hand, I should always know when things are too good to be true like these body wraps.

Hopefully I will get to post some before and after shots a few months from now! Just need a little luck and perseverance on my journey.
